Biography

Lara Fatimi is a criminal lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar. She specialises in legal issues relating to secularism and the fight against Islamism in all its forms. In particular, she advises and defends private higher education institutions facing acts of religious proselytism, and is at the forefront of the fight against communitarian excesses and ideological infiltration.

Having obtained a Master’s degree in 2019 from the University of Paris II – Panthéon-Assas, she was called to the bar in 2021 following her training at the Bar Training School (EFB). Before setting up her own practice, she practised for several years alongside Thibault de Montbrial, following experience in renowned firms, including that of Sylvie Topaloff, which specialises in representing victims of terrorist attacks and medical disasters.

She also represents law enforcement officers in criminal courts in cases where they are either victims or defendants. As a civilian reservist with the National Gendarmerie, she maintains close ties with the institutions she defends.

Maître Lara Fatimi frequently speaks in the media and through legal commentaries on issues of secularism, professional neutrality and Islamist infiltration, reacting in particular to the appearance of religious symbols in the practice of the legal profession and, more broadly, within the justice system.
