An NGO dedicated to “combating Islamophobia” presents itself as the preferred point of contact for public institutions. It organises conferences on “living together”, engages in dialogue with elected representatives, trains chaplains, and so on.

But to fully understand its position, one must analyse its founding documents, trace the history of its leaders, and examine its links with other organisations in Europe and beyond. This analysis often reveals links with the Muslim Brotherhood movement: the educational backgrounds of its leaders, international affiliations and sources of funding.

Who is producing this analysis? Not the mainstream media, which lacks both the time and the expertise. Not the public authorities, which are often at a loss when faced with the complexity of these transnational networks.
